These are all great links! Musicians should be taking advantage of every online opportunity for learning their instruments. It's never been easier to get information on learning music.

They should also be taking in information on how to practice effectively since this accelerates learning and makes playing more fun. I have a blog and free eBook on my website moltomusic.com that will give musicians the secrets to practicing well.

This is great information for people interested in starting to play an instrument. Practicing can actually be fun and rewarding if musicians learn how to do it well-- right from the start.

Thank you for your post!

Wow. Congratulations, that was indeed one of the greatest compliments a teacher could ever have, such a memorable and rewarding experience! I must say that you go beyond being their mere music teacher - you are truly a mentor who is "unhappy until everyone learns even those dumb kids" and who simply deserves your students' and fellow music teachers' appreciation. You can be an inspiration to your colleagues and to any teacher out there. Thank you for sharing your experience and inspiring most of us to do better and give more to our dear students - motivating them to learn, understand, love and enjoy music. All the best, my friend. Til your next posts on creative and innovative music teaching resources that we can use today!

Congratulations, coach! The next question: now that he really knows that you care and that you won't let him slide, will he kick it up into high gear?

Great blog post! It is good insight into education for the elderly. Educators are always looking for background information when trying to market a certain music program. I think that it is true that learning a new instrument at any age will keep the mind sharp. This post is also a great resource for someone looking for information about how to start learning to play an instrument! Thank you for your insight!

You've got a very interesting and educational blog here. I enjoy looking over your site; I admire your efforts of sharing your thoughts as well as giving your readers useful music teaching tips to help them meet their professional goals. In this post, I agree that most students in music out there want to take their music learning experience to the next level. The points you mentioned in the post are remarkably true and real especially this part: practice is what makes perfection. So, make it a habit to practice, and watch your playing skills bloom and grow. Looking forward to reading more posts on the most effective music teacher resources today. Thanks and more power. Cheers!

Hey Owen,

I am in class at Kent State right now in my graduate class, and we are visiting your site specifically the "Non-traditional Music Experiment". Our class is discussing the role of music in society, and how can we connect our school music experiences with society. A couple of questions for you if you could get back to us about:
1) What has been the overall parent reaction during this process of the students being involved in a "non-traditional" ensemble?
2) How difficult was it to secure funding?
3) How has your administration reacted to this ensemble being offered?
4) What has been the reaction of the public when the groups perform in public?

Thanks for your time! I hope you are having a great year, and I will talk to you soon!
